An action role-playing game published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by Monolith Productions as well as Behavior Interactive. Arguably the best game posted to this blog to date, Shadow of Mordor is a prequel to Lord of the Rings and the most popular Lord of the Rings game to knowledge. The story is quite in depth as far as Lord of the Ring's lore goes as it follows the lead-up to the events of the first Lord of the Ring's book.
The actual story is a follow along of a Ranger who was situated at the Black Gate until he and his family were killed and he becomes attached to a wraith. The two new 'best' buddies set off in a quest for knowledge in a hope that they could find out what happened to them.
Onto game-play, the kind of game-play that never gets boring through the entire game. Because of the great character development and information gathering that is actually important you're never really repeating the same mission twice. That is if you do stop yourself from doing side-quests and grabbing collectibles along the way, almost impossible for me.
In conclusion to this toned down review the game looks great without promoting the look, the GUI is clean and easy to master, most bugs are non-existent, great story-line as well a lot of nice referencing to lore, unique character and enemy progressing system. All in all the almost perfect mash-up of Assassins Creed, Border Lands, and the Batman: Arkham series.
