I behold to you the third installment in Hidetaka Miyazaki's most world renowned series. Developed by Bandai and From Software as well as being published by From Software. The game could be classified as an action RPG game but you cant really categorize Dark Soul's as there is no other series or game that comes anywhere near close to being like them. Dark Souls really can only be described as Dark Souls.
As far as gameplay goes its a bit of a grind for newer players and more experienced ones alike. The game keeps up the very challenging action of the other two titles but also adds the nice quality update to make the world look just that tad bit more fabulous. Players can enjoy co-op or single player PvE or go head to head in multiplayer PvP which adds nice competitive aspects for the more hardcore gamer's and more lighter co-op PvE for the gamer's who just want a nice experience with friends.
Lets take a second to look at the downsides of Dark Souls. Firstly I was a bit disappointed with the amount of in-depth lore that was lost when going through translation, I think the game would've done a tad better if that lore was still there. And the laziness of the developers with some of the boss-fights. Some were new and creative but it saddened me to see blatant copies of bosses from the previous Dark Souls. And finally matchmaking it doesn't seem to quite be at the standard it should be yet.
So all in all to conclude and sum up this review Dark Souls II is a long lasting RPG with some of the most pain-inducing bosses ever created, it features nice updated graphics and fighting quality but I don't think they've completely fixed it yet, to finish off it also has really, really well connected lore if you're willing to spend the time waddling in translation.
T for Try it before you buy it.
8.5/10
P.S I pray for all of you poor souls(pun intended)
