The Unleashing of Isaac: Unbirth

A sequel that is almost if not as good as the original?! The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth being designed by Edmund McMillen and developed by Nicalis. The game itself is a fresh remodel, redesign and recreation of The Binding of Isaac flash game, adding hundreds of new things but keeping on the same story line.

Character progression in the game is almost never the same or identical meaning every single game is a new challenge with differently generated rooms and areas. The only thing that really stays the same on each run is your mom. Yes the crazy woman fueled by her belief in everything righteous that would kill her own baby boy in a frantic man-hunt. Scary.

The main features of Rebirth is the game not being a flash game which gives the developers  the opportunity to add many features normally unavailable to flash-game designers such as saving and returning to your game, ability to play with different controllers, more modding support as well as features obtained with a better budget such as local co-op, resolution options and different game difficulties.

Through to the game play, which has been fine-tuned and sharpened a lot more since the first title thanks to the hard work of the game dev's. Apart from item updates and additions the main part of the game play is still very identical to the first game so I can't really make to much of a comment on it sadly but i'm willing to give Edmund the benefit of the doubt on this one.

In conclusion The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a must have for most if not all gamer's as it offers up never ending uniqueness, a quite balanced progression system that is both exciting and easy to learn as well as many secrets along the way.

M for Must have.
